Mirror Mirror: Messages to yourself
One of the most common things that we can do as human beings is look in the mirror and find faults. Lets be honest, we all have them... and that's okay. What's not okay is the amount of imaginary faults that we find within ourselves on a daily basis. We find issues with the choices that we have made, the people that are no longer in our lives and often place all of the blame onto ourselves.
Let them go
One of the things that I have had to learn lately, which is super important is that sometimes people don't stay in our lives. No matter how much we try, you cannot force something...and if it requires that much force then we shouldn't want to. So to those people who leave our lives, we thank them for the good times, treasure the positive memories and if necessary, learn the lessons that their presence has taught us. Sometimes people are in our lives with the sole purpose to teach us something, perhaps it's that we need to love and accept ourselves without the premise that we are only loveable if we have a significant other to show us that emotion.Time to move on
There is literally no point in living in the past. Whatever has happened is over now and so we need to accept it and move on. This is one of those things where it is 'easier said than done' but it's important that we try to learn this lesson. There is no way that we are going to find peace in our lives if we don't learn to let go of the things that are not good for us, whether that means a person or a memory etc.Accept yourself
It's very easy to think about all of the things that we don't like anout ourself and then go through every avenue possible to try to change these things. While some things can have a positive effect on us, changing every fibre of our being just so we can be like someone else is a complete waste of the gem that you truly are. We all have things that we want to improve on and if you want to change that then its fine but don't forget about the great things about our personalities as well. Embrace who you are and celebrate the things that you can bring to the world.
