A-Z of Recovery: Dawn after darkness
Whenever anyone goes through a rough time, there will always be someone there who says that the darkness wont last forever and soon the light will shine again (or reworded some other way). It's one of those things where people will either think its super inspiring or super cheesy. But let me tell you something....its true.
Life isn't smooth sailing, if it were then it would be super boring. but its the scary and sometimes really unsettling part of life that we are going to learn from, I mean think about a sailor, they'd never become skilled at steering a boat if they never had any wind. We grow and develop as to the things that we are to experience in life. It's the versatility of these experiences that helps make us all even more unique. No one has followed the exact same path as you, and so they have different ways of viewing the world.
One thing that I do know for certain is that when you've know some turmoil in your life, you appreciate the little things all the more. You get to a point where you have trained your brain into finding the things that have made you feel happier and you actively seek those things out; this is how you can find peace in your soul.
One of the things that many people like me have found is that it's because of those dark times that we have actually found the things that light our soul on fire. We have found our path because of the struggles that we endure. Before you know it, your darkness has turned into this wonderful light that you can then share with the world.
There really is a light at the end of the tunnel for everyone, it may be something like peace with your body, a renewed relationship with someone, new friendships created or on a large scale, there are people who have made very successful careers out of finding themselves. No matter what it is that you have gained from struggling, there will be something. you just have to hang in there so that you can find it.
You don't always have to be strong, so long as you don't give up.
Love,
Louise x
